What to Expect at a Chase Fit Session
It’s two minutes before the session starts.
Players walk into the gym, drink bottles in hand, runners on, ready to go. Some have played a lot of basketball. Others haven’t played in years. Some are just starting out. We welcome all and encourage the mix.
The clock ticks over and the 60 minute fitness and skills session starts.
Running, passing, dribbling, shooting. There is constant movement and all areas of the game are covered. We combine skill work with gameplay, so it doesn’t feel like you’re just repeating drills for the whole session.
And there are always a few laughs along the way!
Before a player’s first session, I regularly hear the same thing:
“I don’t want to slow other people down.”
“I didn’t think I’d be good enough to join.”
“I don’t know what to do during games.”
These are all fair concerns. But what is sure to happen is that within a session or two, these worries start to disappear. The more experienced players naturally help set the tone, and the newer players settle in quicker than they expect.
We keep things simple where they need to be simple. A bit of guidance here and there on where to move, when to pass, how to create space. Small things that make a big difference once the game starts flowing.
Everyone improves at their own pace and no one feels left behind.
One thing that is consistent after every training is that everyone knows they’ve had a workout.
It’s not fitness in the traditional sense. You’re not counting reps or staring at a clock. You’re moving, reacting, competing and thinking the whole time.

Fitness comes through the game.
By the end of a session, there’s always that moment where everything slows down again. Hands in, a quick chat, a few conversations continuing as people grab their things and head off.
More often than not, people are already talking about the next session.
I enjoy coaching at these trainings.
There’s something good about seeing people arrive unsure then settling in, improving and starting to enjoy their basketball again.
If you’ve been thinking about getting back into the game, improving your fitness, or just doing something different during your week, Chase Fit is the place to start. Share your love of the sport with others who are also looking for a fitness session with a difference.
